GH's tale of Two Carly's

There are rumors swirling that GENERAL HOSPITAL's Tamara Braun (Carly) will leave the show when her contract expires in February, but that's just the half of it- there is also buzz that her predecessor, Sarah Braun will fill that vacancy, returning to the role she created in 1996.
According to the internet scuttlebutt, Brain Frons, president of ABC Daytime has been in touch with Brown... although the precise tropic of conversation is unknown...
As for Braun, an inside source says that neither she nor ABC has actively started contract negotiations, and the actress is thinking about checking out of the HOSPITAL. "There's definitely a chance that Tamara will leave GH," source reveals. "I think she's ready to explore other options outside of daytime." Word has it Braun has met with powerful Hollywood reps to do just that. According to another insider, Braun is seriously weighing her choices and waiting to see what GH and ABC have to offer.
In 2001, viewers were devastated when Brown, a fan favorite, opted to leave GH. But recast Braun won them over. Earlier this year, the actress told Digest that she is very happy to call GH Home. "I'm not going anywhere anytime soon," she said in February. " really do love the family that has been created here at GH." However, Braun also noted that she is interested in opportunities. "I actually feel betraying my GH family to say that yeah, one day, I would like to do some other thing, but I'd be lying if I said no."
As GH spokesperson has no comment on the status of either actress.
